• his mom met poseidon the summer after she finished high school 👁👄👁 yeah she was v young hate that for her xx mans saw her on the pier watching the waves and he said 👅 and thats the v romantic story of how cohen was conceived 💙
• she was v v wild in her youth and fell in love with poseidon bc ofc she did 😔 he represented the freedom she craved and she fell Hard v quickly silly girl
• her parents disowned her when they found out she was pregnant bc they were v religious and didnt approve rip BUT silver lining she could at least Live Her Life how she wanted !
• she got a shitty job at nasty hooters and saved & saved til she could afford a shitty apartment in the shitty part of town and she'd never been happier ☺️
• her older brother helped her financially for a long time but his wife was v much against letting his sister stay with them bc of the ~scandal~
• ofc it got difficult when cohen was born bc she was mostly on her own but she made it work just barely and she loved him soooo much 💙 im naming her esther and i love her
• she never fell out of love with poseidon but she did begrudge him for leaving her on her own so abruptly and not explaining to her where he went rip shes rly just lonely and she misses the bastard smh
• anyways cohen grew up relatively quickly due to his mom working so much, leaving him to half raise himself and make sure she wasnt overworking herself so hes always been a v resourceful kid
• did Not do well in school both bc of the dyslexia and bc hes just a little bit dumb ☺️ but in a cute way yk DJFJEBF
• always v popular bc hes rly friendly tho most of his friends didnt Actually know much abt him besides like surface level stuff which is how he likes it x
• however 😏 hes got a rly bad temper aha ! hes fiercely protective of his mom bc shes Tiny™️ and she needs someone to look out for her and from that has stemmed a need to protect anyone that can't protect themselves even if it means hes getting in a fist fight at school DKFJSB
• first encountered a monster when he was thirteen when a telekhine attacked him at the beach and he only got away out of pure dumb luck oop
• ever since then he's been fighting off monsters at least twice a week due to his dad being one of the big 3 and he's lk tired of it SNDJFJS
• met his protector at fifteen and has become p skilled with knives and swords but hes best in hand to hand .. has killed a monster with his bare fists and honestly? 🥵
• his powers first manifested later when he was 16 and he almost caused a hurricane during a fight with this irrelevant white guy who was harrassing some kid at the pier aha it was trippy as hell cos it faded the second his anger did weiiiiird !! also hes caused multiple small scale earthquakes on accident from just being angry DJFJSH hate that for kratos x
• anyways! the Big Tragedy™️ was when his mom was injured during one of his rage induced earthquakes, leaving her 😔 paralyzed i haaate it !!!!!!! she obvs doesnt blame him bc its technically poseidon's fault DKFJDBF but ofc he blames himself and he needed to get away to learn to control himself to keep from hurting anyone else on accident
• his uncle takes care of his mom now (king divirced his judging ex-wife 😌) and cohen tried to talk to then at least once a day xx
• OH and he thinks its absolutely hilarious that his dad is the god of the sea lmao he's still working on believing it all completely xx
